Help provide cleaner water...drink whiskey!

What an awesome concept! I mean I'm all for clean water, but if this article about the Glennfiddich distillery using its by products to clean water is true then we can provide clean water and have a good time. The thing that really blew me away (and I'm still a bit skeptical about) is that the process works on heavy metals. Heavy metals being some of the most toxic pollutants seem like they would be difficult to get rid of. I guess in the mean time until the research results are out raise your glass to clean water!

a Video

I'm not sure whether this video is real or fake. I don't think it matters, because my reaction would pretty much be the same. I'm not going to give away too much but my own reaction was pure embarrassment. I think it's funny when watching a video clip at work (ie the most mundane/quiet place possible) I can feel so embarrassed. I didn't feel that way for watching it, but actually for the guy and when I saw what he was doing. Ok well enjoy...more later today probably.

First real post...

I've been thinking about all the random items I need to put out into the world through this blog for the last few days so finally I'm buckling down and doing it.

One of the blogs that I read (and will eventually appear on the sidebar) mentioned that the winner of some blogging award was a site called Pioneer Woman, which in and of itself is a pretty good blog (or so it seems since I was sidetracked by the blogger's other site). The real site in my mind is the second site, Pioneer Woman Cooks. I'm not that big on cooking websites, but damn this lady does it right. Not only does she show photos of her final product as the link to their individual recipes, but she has step by step photos of everything she does. I really don't even need a recipe except to tell me how much of everything to use. You cannot look at her site and tell me even if you are a vegetarian there isn't something on there that looks super good and you want to make/eat it.

What the hell is this zoobz thing?

Lets get one thing straight...I don't like to blog. A common question might be why are you doing this? Well I'm not in this to put down thoughts of any kind, but more to tell people about things I find interesting that others might find interesting. Throughout my day I somehow manage to gather an amazing amount of random facts, articles, news, events, etc. not connected to anything and often I tell people about it. However, it gets a bit tedious telling different people the same thing in emails and what not. I also will often lose track of all the things I want to tell someone. Now it's all going to pile up in one giant heap of stuff for you to always access when you are bored.

Next question what the hell is zoobz? To that I answer I only know as much as you do. In order to make this site, the idea for which has been bouncing around for a while, I needed a address. If you have ever tried to start a blog it's harder than (insert some quirky metaphor...I'm an engineer not a writer so bear with me) to come up with an address that someone hasn't already tried. So the next thing I tried was to combine random words to make an address. No luck. My address has to: be short, be easy to remember, and I need to like it. As a last resort I sat here and just started trying things (my last name backwards...taken, my name backwards...not taken...but not cool, etc.). I stumbled upon zoobz. No idea what it is or anything so I figure in this day of Web 2.0 or whatever it's called when every one is making up words then I just got mine. Somewhere there is a start up called Zoobz and in two years they'll be pissed at me for having my blog first.

So check in occasionally for random stuff that I might post. Rest easy everything is SFW.
